Increased Response and Sales from Japan and Hawaii for the Aloha Street Nature Project 2007 Charity Calendar |
Aloha Street Nature Project started selling the 2007 calendar as part of its charity program to raise donations for Hawaii's nature conservancy organizations. With improvements suggested by our readers, changes have been made to the 2007 calendar. The new format features full-size perforated pages to make the images easy to keep or frame as it maintains the eco-friendly elements. The calendars are being sold individually, in sets of five or 10, or with the CD of the acoustic sound that accompanies the calendar. Nearly 100 calendars were sold at the World Travel Fair in Japan at the end of September before its official release to the public.

"The Heart of Hawaii - Healing Inspirations"
Audio Version |
The newest product of our Aloha Street Nature project is a music compilation CD called "The Heart of Hawaii - Healing Inspirations." The CD contains tracks selected from two albums produced by well-known local musicians, Steve Jones and Bryan Kessler and was packaged with conservation in mind.
The eco-friendly CD jacket is made of 100 percent recycled paper, not the usual plastic CD case. To save paper, we did not include the usual liner notes although it can be accessed via our website. In addition, the delivery envelope is also recycled paper.
The CD was designed as a direct accompaniment to the first product of our Aloha Street Nature Project, our 2006 calendar of the same name. Each of the music selections is an auditory expression of a photograph in the calendar, which features scenic images of Hawaii. |

"The Heart of Hawaii - Healing Inspirations"
2006 Calendar |
| The project
kicked off with the sale of our 2006 calendar that was available
online and through select retailers in Japan and Hawaii. The
24-page calendar featured unspoiled views of Hawaiifs scenery
captured through the eyes of California born artist and photographer,
Susan Benay. Nearly half the pictures were newly taken expressly
for this calendar, inspired by the concept of the project. |

| The featured picture expresses the harmonious
relationship between human beings and nature, the core
message of this project. |
|

The calendar is bilingual in Japanese and
English, and displays both countriesf holidays.
It is a convenient tool for local business people in the
tourism industry. |
|
The calendar was well received by
Hawaii lovers in Japan and sold well online to individuals as
well as businesses.
In line with the eco-friendly theme of the project, the calendar
was printed on 100 percent recycled paper using soy ink, and
packaged in a 100 percent recycled paper envelope. |
