Aloha Street Wins Two Pai Awards from Hawaii Publishers Association

HONOLULU, HI (April 12, 2006)- On March 30, Aloha Street was presented with two prestigious Pai Awards at the Hawaii Publishers Association's Annual Luncheon.

Each year the HPA recognizes excellence in the areas of journalism, photography, design and publication in 35 different categories of awards. Judging criteria was based on overall completeness of coverage, effective design and layout, and effective use of artwork and graphic design. Aloha Street magazine was awarded first place in the category of a Japanese language publication with an annual circulation of over 500,000. Judges remarked that Aloha Street provides "a unique peek into local culture with snap-shots into locals-only places and interesting in-depth interviews with local personalities ... an excellent introduction to Hawaii."

Aloha Street's supplemental publication "Discover Big Island" Travel Planner won first place in the category of a Japanese language publication with an annual circulation of under 500,000.

"We are honored to be recognized by the reputable Hawaii Publishers Association and aim to continue producing quality Japanese language publications," said Jim Ueno, president of Aloha Street. "We appreciate the efforts of our creative production crew in Hawaii and Japan who strive to achieve a high standard on all of our projects".
