| Aloha Street Wins Two Pai Awards from
Hawaii Publishers Association |
| HONOLULU, HI (April 12, 2006)- On March 30, Aloha
Street was presented with two prestigious Pai Awards at the
Hawaii Publishers Association's Annual Luncheon. |
Each year the HPA recognizes excellence in the
areas of journalism, photography, design and publication in
35 different categories of awards. Judging criteria was based
on overall completeness of coverage, effective design and layout,
and effective use of artwork and graphic design. Aloha Street
magazine was awarded first place in the category of a Japanese
language publication with an annual circulation of over 500,000.
Judges remarked that Aloha Street provides "a unique peek
into local culture with snap-shots into locals-only places and
interesting in-depth interviews with local personalities ...
an excellent introduction to Hawaii."
Aloha Street's supplemental publication "Discover Big Island"
Travel Planner won first place in the category of a Japanese
language publication with an annual circulation of under 500,000.
